In the biography of Drukpa Yongzin Yeshi Drupa Rinpoche called The Treasured Vase of Supreme Blessing as composed by the 7th Choegon Rinpoche Choeki Nyinjed, at the front of page no. 8, the fifth line states thus:
“At a time he [Yongzin Yeshi Drupa] was in a very strict meditational retreat, in order to test his spiritual attainment and to inflict harm, a perilous spirit that goes by the name Gyalchen Shugden conjured numerous hexes. For some time, he overlooked them and stayed in a state of equilibrium. However, after some time [as the hexes did not stop], by applying different Sutric and Tantric means of overpowering evil, he overpowered the spirit, who was then commanded and made to abide by commitments. The spirit showed its real form and spoke thus: ‘As I have many perilous spirits as my followers who would inflict them with harm if any of your students worshiped me, there is no need to do any ritual of propitiating me. Whatever task is required of me will be carried out as you may desire.’ Saying thus, the spirit vanished and returned to its own place.”
From this it is clear that Dolgyal himself confessed to leading many pitiable spirits who follow him. He also told Drupa Yongzin Rinpoche that as he had many evil spirits as his followers, they would inflict harm on anyone who propitiates him. This statement by Dolgyal, that he has many perilous spirits in his group who would inflict harm on anyone who worshiped him, proves that Dolgyal is only a mundane worldly spirit who cannot even control his own immediate followers of evil spirits.
